  • 2 cups Red or Yellow Onion (thinly sliced)
  • 3 Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1 tbsp White apple vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Tomato Sauce
  • 1 cup Beef Broth
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • Fresh Herbs (Thyme and Parsley)

Instructions

  1. Whisk together tomato sauce, beef broth, minced garlic, thyme, Worcestershire sauce, and white apple vinegar in a bowl.
  2. Trim excess fat from the chuck roast and season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. In the slow cooker, layer half of the sliced onions, pour half of the sauce over them, place the roast on top, add remaining onions, then pour the rest of the sauce.
  4. Cover and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 7 hours until fork-tender.
  5. For gravy, mix cornstarch with cold water; heat leftover sauce until thickened.
